Nearby to Willowbrook farm and the granary is Swaddywell pit nature reserve which in itself has a lot of interesting history.
During June, bee orchids can be found and it has a high population of great crested newts.

Castor hanglands, a second nature reserve which dates back over 2,000 years, contains a large variety of plant and animal life.

Southey woods is a mixed woodland, with majestic oaks. The wood is in the soke of Peterborough, and was once included in medieval Royal Forest of Nottingham.
